2. Development of the Horse Industry

As part of a development plan covering all aspects of the non-thoroughbred horse industry, grant aid to encourage and assist in the breeding, production and performance testing of quality sport horses is available under the following schemes:

  • Quality Stallion Incentive Scheme.
  • Quality Mare Incentive Scheme.
  • Stallion Performance Testing Incentive Schemes.
  • Farriery Project.
  • Stud-Book Establishment and Development Scheme.
  • Blood Typing Programme.
  • Marketing and Promotion (Irish Horse Board).
