Double Road Relief for Navan - 15 May 2009
The Minister for Transport, Mr. Noel Dempsey T.D., officially opened the Navan Inner Relief Road Phase 2B on the 15th of May and also announced the opening, significantly ahead of schedule, of a link road to the future M3 motorway. The two new roads which are funded under the National Development Plan will positively change the face of Navan by significantly easing traffic congestion in the busy Northeast town.

New NDP-funded National Road Eases Drivers into the West - Safely - 16 July 2008
The N6 Kilbeggan to Athlone national road scheme was officially opened today, 16 July 2008 by Mr. Noel Dempsey, T.D, Minister for Transport.  The road was funded under the roads sub-programme of the National Development Plan's Transport Programme (Transport 21) and part-financed by the European Union.

NDP-funded Tourism Development Grants of over 4.3 million announced for 27 Tourism Infrastructure Projects -July 14 2008
Funding of up to €4,329,125 has been allocated under Fáilte Ireland's Tourism Infrastructure Fund to 27 tourism projects around the country. This allocation of funding is in addition to over €18 million in Tourism Infrastructure Fund grants already announced. The grants approved include over €1.8m for the development

Substantial Increase in NDP funding provided for Conservation and Protection of Built Heritage - 20 March 2008
On the 20th of March 2008, Mr. John Gormley, T.D., Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government announced a funding package amounting to almost €25 Million to support built heritage projects in 2008. The provision represents a record increase of 42% on the amount spent in 2007 and is funded under the Built Heritage Sub-Programme of the National Development Plan (NDP)

Ó Cuív announces Waterways Ireland Programme of capital works for the National Development Plan 2007–2013 - 11 March 2008
Éamon Ó Cuív today announced details of Waterways Ireland's programme of capital works for the National Development Plan 2007 – 2013.    Waterways Ireland is a North South Body established under the British-Irish Agreement Act of 1999 to manage Ireland's inland navigable waterways principally for recreational purposes.

NDP Delivering in Westmeath
National roads projects under construction in the county include the N4 McNeads Bridge Realignment Scheme, and the M4 Kinnegad Enfield Kilcock Motorway Scheme. Construction has also started on the N52 Mullingar Eastern By-Pass Scheme. The new scheme will extend from Marlinstown, east of Mullingar, to the N52 at Lynn to the south of the town.
